Rivertop Renewables Named a Top 50 Hottest Company in Bioeconomy

(February 17, 2016) MISSOULA, Mont. – Rivertop Renewables, a Montana-based renewable chemicals company, has been named the 34th hottest company in the advanced bioeconomy by Biofuels Digest, the world’s most widely read biofuels and bio-based chemicals daily publication. This accolade comes on the heels of the announcement at the end of January that Mike Knauf, CEO of Rivertop Renewables, has been recognized among the top 100 people in the bioeconomy in 2016 by Biofuels Digest.

“The Biofuels Digest Hot lists are a great way to highlight innovative companies who are challenging the status quo,” said John Monks, Vice President of Business Development at Rivertop. “We are honored to once again be ranked among them after a dynamic and successful 2015. This award sets the stage for the milestones we expect to achieve in 2016.”

The Hot 50 list, published annually, recognizes innovation and achievement in fuels, bio-based chemicals and materials. The rankings are determined by votes from an invited panel of distinguished international selectors (50 percent) and from subscribers of The Digest (50 percent). The Digest also publishes the Hot 40 list for small companies in the space, which ranked Rivertop at #7 at the end of 2015.

These rankings represent the culmination of a successful year for Rivertop. The company has had significant growth in production and sales, paralleling a simultaneous growth in employees. Rivertop opened its first commercial-scale production facility in Danville, Virginia, where it manufactures glucarate-based products, including Riose® detergent builder, a cost effective, performance-based, sustainable chelant and corrosion inhibitor for the dishwasher detergent market and adjacent consumer products markets. This facility also serves the water treatment and road deicing markets with Waterline™ corrosion inhibitors and chelants and Headwaters® corrosion inhibitor.
