Building Blocks

Carbohydrate science provides several elemental building blocks for all of chemistry. Rivertop brings the supply of key building blocks to an industrial scale.

Rivertop's first initiative is to bring the production of glucarate up to its true market potential. Glucarate is a versatile compound which can be used as a building block for health, manufacturing, industrial and material applications.

Further development is underway for the production of other building blocks, including xylaric, arabinaric and mannaric acids, that hold tremendous potential for science, industry and society. Rivertop technology can use other common sugars to make additional and important renewable chemicals such as galactaric/mucic and ribaric acids.
